French verbs in the present tense can be translated into either of these three different English forms.
I play, He is playing, We do play

Once you have the infinitive (to go, to play), conjugating present tense, regular French verbs is easy. There are three types of verb; -er -ir, and -re. These are all infinitive endings and each type of verb follows a different pattern,once the ending has been removed, as shown bellow. Each person corresponds with a different ending on each verb.


They are; je (I), tu (personal you), il/elle, (he/she), nous (we), vous (formal you) and ils/elles (they masculine and feminine).

Here are some verbs in the infinitive. See if you can conjugate a few. Remember to remove the ending first and don't worry, they're all regular.!

*manger in the "nous" form keeps the "e" and only removes the "r"
